I am thrilled to introduce myself as the new Director of Development and Community Outreach. While this is a new chapter for me as a staff member, my connection to FSNCC's mission is deeply personal. For more than ten years, this organization has been an indispensable source of support for my family and my daughter, Moira. Through PICU bedside support, the Rare Diagnosis Moms Group, Sibshops, community resource matching, and parent mentoring, FSNCC has walked alongside us throughout our journey as a family in the rare disease and disability communities. Our family’s experience has given me a profound appreciation for our work and an unwavering commitment to our families. The opportunity to give back as a staff member is not just an honor and a privilege—it's a meaningful legacy.
My passion for this work is informed by my past experiences in community-engaged academic research and case management for families with medically fragile children, my advocacy within the disability community, and most importantly, my journey as a caregiver and advocate for my daughter, Moira.
Working from our Transform GSO and NICU support offices, my role will focus on strengthening our grant development; building relationships with community partners and providers in our five-county network; enhancing our support for families of children with special needs, rare diagnoses, and medically fragile conditions across our network’s rural counties; providing resource guidance to the PICU and NICU support staff; and serving as a parent mentor and support group facilitator.
I am grateful to be here and to join the FSNCC team in ensuring every family in the NICU and disability communities has access to a strong network of support.
Please connect with me; I’d love to hear from you!
