Parker was born at 30 weeks and 5 days due to unexplained preterm labor. We were very scared when we learned he’d be going to the NICU and had no idea what to expect. Slowly but surely, he started gaining weight and was eventually able to nurse.
The FSNCC staff were a huge blessing to us during a time when we didn’t know anyone else with a NICU experience and couldn’t meet other families due to Covid restrictions. Through the Books for Babies program, parent mentorship, and receiving preemie clothes (which we hadn’t planned for), we felt very loved and supported.
Knowing there was someone we could talk with during the hard times—and when celebrating a milestone—gave us so much hope for our baby and his future.
