Addison's Story

Addison and her twin sister, Hadley, arrived unexpectedly at 24 weeks in December 2014. With the support of the wonderful NICU staff, their family sat in the overwhelming tension of grief and joy during the holidays when Hadley passed on Christmas Eve, just five days after they were born.

Addison’s NICU journey was filled with ups and downs — moments of hope, tiny milestones worth celebrating, many prayers, and incredible perseverance. Through it all, the NICU staff was there in every moment, offering guidance, compassion, and strength when it was needed most.

Today, Addison is a thriving 10-year-old who excels academically, loves to bake and paint, and enjoys playing soccer. Her story is a reminder that while it’s hard to imagine the future when you’re in the midst of the unknown, there will be many days of joy ahead.
