As I entered my third trimester, I began experiencing high blood pressure, and due to placental issues, my baby stopped growing as expected. My doctors decided to induce labor, but after 30 long hours of labor and a drop in Jeremiah's heart rate, an emergency C-section became necessary.
Jeremiah was born at 35 weeks and 2 days weighing just 4 pounds. He was diagnosed with intrauterine growth restriction (IUGR) and spent 45 days in the NICU receiving specialized care.
Those weeks were filled with challenges, uncertainty, and hope as we watched Jeremiah grow stronger each day. Along the way, one of the greatest gifts was connecting with other NICU families who understood exactly what we were experiencing.
Through FSNCC, I met my friend Alisson, and her friendship made our hospital stay much more bearable. Having someone to share the journey with made a tremendous difference.
I am incredibly grateful to FSNCC for creating opportunities for NICU families to connect, share their stories, and support one another. The encouragement and sense of community meant so much during a difficult time.
