Our History
Family Support Network of Central Carolina (formerly FSN of Greater Greensboro) is a non-profit organization which was organized in 1989 by a coalition of parents, medical professionals, and staff from community agencies serving children with special needs and their families. In-kind support, including office space, was provided by Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital. The office was later moved to Women’s Hospital of Greensboro, a member of the Moses Cone Group of Health Services. Program development was guided by the Family Support Network of North Carolina, an affiliate of the School of Medicine at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, with offices in Carrboro, N.C.
In the ensuing years, we have maintained our close affiliation with Cone Health System, and are now located within the new Neonatal Medicine Department at Cone Health Women's and Children's Center at Moses Cone Hospital.
Family Support Network of Central Carolina (FSNCC) serves families whose children have been diagnosed with special needs or have experienced a NICU stay. Our catchment area encompasses Guilford and surrounding counties.
The Family Support Network™ of North Carolina enhances the lives of children who have disabilities, mental health challenges, and special healthcare needs by providing parent-to-parent support, education, and caring connections to their families. We believe that healthy families lead to healthy communities
