Our History

Family Support Network of Central Carolina (formerly FSN of Greater Greensboro) is a non-profit organization which was organized in 1989 by a coalition of parents, medical professionals, and staff from community agencies serving children with special needs and their families. In-kind support, including office space, was provided by Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital. The office was later moved to Women’s Hospital of Greensboro, a member of the Moses Cone Group of Health Services. Program development was guided by Family Support Network of North Carolina, an affiliate of the School of Medicine at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, with offices in Carrboro, N.C.

In the ensuing years, we have maintained our close affiliation with Cone Health System, and continue to be located within the Neonatal Medicine Department at Women’s Hospital of Greensboro.

Family Support Network of Central Carolina (FSN-CC) serves families whose children have been diagnosed with a special need or chronic illness, or who have been born prematurely. Our catchment area encompasses Guilford and surrounding counties.
