9th: Down Syndrome Network of Greater Greensboro's Annual Family Pool Party:

11th: The Autism Society of North Carolina, Guilford County Chapter' Summer Picnic. 1:00 PM, Barber Park, Shelter #4 at 1500 Dans Road in Greensboro. Bring your swim suits because they have a splash park. ASNC will provide the drinks, hot dogs, and hamburgers. Everyone whose last name starts with A-M should bring a side dish to share if you can, and everyone whose last name begins with N-Z should bring a dessert to share if you can. 31st: NC THERAPEUTIC RIDING CENTER OPEN HOUSE at Clearwind Farm in Mebane, NC. See their lovely 25 acre horse farm. Watch riding demonstrations starting at 10am. 8/3: Disability Education Clinic. Women's Resource Center of Greensboro, 628 Summit Avenue, 12-1:30pm. Join Attorneys from Legal Aid of NC for this workshop.
Topics include: Medicaid Disability eligibility requirements; How to prepare for a Medicaid Disability hearing; How to advocate for yourself if you are denied Medicaid Disability. Registration required! Call 275-6090 to register.

 

**SAVE THE DATE: JOURNEY TO ADULTHOOD WORKSHOP.

Parents of Middle School or High School with AUTISM SPECTRUM DISORDER: Are you prepared for your child’s life after high school? Is your child prepared for life after high school? Did you know that your child will need a Transition Plan in his IEP by the time he is 14 years old? NOW is the time to begin planning for your child’s future!  The future will be here before you know it. Please join the Autism Society of NC for a workshop that will provide you with the information you will need for the transition from high school to life as an adult. Tuesday, August 31st,  2010, 9 AM – 12 Noon, Autism Society of NC, 505 Oberlin Road, Suite 230, Raleigh, NC.
